Let’s be honest: tech is fun. It’s novel and makes life easier. But smart parents today embrace tech to keep kids safer while coincidentally increasing their property values. If you’re looking to smarten up your home, here’s a look at the top four devices to get you started.

Smart locks. With smart locks, you have no more worries about lost or forgotten keys. Your child can always get into the locked house, and you can always know when they’re home. But smart locks go one step further, they leave a digital trail so you can see who comes and goes and when, and they can lock automatically once your child is home safely.

Smart doorbells. These devices take the smart locks a step further allowing you and your child to monitor who’s ringing the doorbell and when. With motion activation and digital recording, you can view video of everyone coming near your door and ringing your doorbell and communicate with them wherever you are.

Smart cameras. Cameras are the 21st Century version of the baby monitor. You can place them in various rooms around your home to ensure children are safe, doing their studies and minding house rules when you aren’t in the same room or even in the same house.

Smart lighting. Smart lighting just makes sense for the whole family—illuminating a path to the bathroom at night or lighting up home when you return…and when you’re away.
