Here are the interior paint colors on trend in 2019
PPG Paints: Night Watch
PPG Paints declared that Night Watch is the color of the year for 2019. They say this luxurious, deep, green paint color not only mirrors the sense of lush greenery but also captures the healing influence of nature. They recommend the color for everything from health care facilities to residential interior rooms.
Behr announced that their 2019 color of the year is Blueprint. The color is essentially a denim blue color that is in the middle of the denim spectrum. And just like that favorite pair of jeans, this color pairs well with a variety of uses. Behr even designed a trend palette to reflect the versatility of the color, so that homeowners can opt to match it with jewel tones, pastels, neutrals or monochromatic looks.
Pantone: Living Coral
The Pantone color of the year 2019 is a bright, coral hue that is both vibrant and playful. Pantone says the color symbolizes “our innate need for optimism and joyful pursuits,” and that the color reflects our need to express ourselves playfully. It’s energizing and vivid, surely a reflection of the beauty under the sea that so rarely shows itself in our everyday lives.
Benjamin Moore: Metropolitan
Benjamin Moore announced that Metropolitan is their color of 2019, an elegant, sophisticated gray which showcases the softer side of the modern home. They pair it with heathered grays and pinks that create a soothing space, even while looking classically elegant.
Valspar: 12 Colors
Rather than select one color for the year, Valspar selects 12 to feature, so every would-be painter is sure to find something on trend and within their comfort zone. This year the colors range from Metropolis Lilac (a deep purple) to Angelic Blue, and the bright and adventurous Orange Slice.
Select the interior paint trend that resonates with you
Creating a new look for your space involves more than choosing the trending colors of the year; you’ll want to find a color that also speaks to you, the mood you want to invoke and how you will use the room. And if you’re selling, it’s safer to select colors that are neutral, while also being fresh and on trend. With these colors of the year as determined by those in the know, you’re sure to settle on a color that’s just right for your home. Happy painting!
